We love a hot, steaming coffee on a chilly autumn day. But sometimes, on the rare (and special) occasion when the sky is blue and the sun warms your shoulders, you need an iced beverage to celebrate. The tart taste of apple, the sweetness of brown sugar, the caramel flavor of molasses, and the kick of cinnamon creates a dreamy iced coffee.
This latte is meant for a crisp, sunny autumn weekend when the leaves are crunching under your feet and a cable knit sweater is keeping you warm. Here’s the recipe.
Apple Crisp Syrup
¾ cup of water
½ brown sugar
1 tablespoon molasses
Apple peel of a whole apple
1 cinnamon stick or 1 teaspoon cinnamon
1-2 tablespoons apple cider (not necessary, but adds flavor)
Bring to a boil, then simmer for 15 minutes
Store in a fridge in a glass jar
Recipe
Pour a tablespoon or two of the apple syrup (depends on desired sweetness) in your coffee glass
Pull your espresso
Pour milk of choice
Add ice cubes and swirl with a straw
Sip and enjoy!
